Photographs > West Pond & West Claire -voie
The Lookout or West Claire-voie is at the end of the main east west axis of the gardens and provided the family with a view over their parkland to the countyside beyond.
The formal gardens are thought to have reached a peak of excellence around 1740. They also reached a second peak of excellence in a less formal style whilst in the care of Countess Ida around the year 1900
